"Rex and Loni first started chatting on Bumble (yes, online dating) on June 2nd, 2016. Anyone who knows Bumble, knows that the lady has to be the initiator of the conversation, AMAZING concept! Loni’s first line (probably not well thought out) was something like “REX! That’s a badass name!”
Their first date quickly followed on June 5th. Conversation flowed with an affinity for each other and in their back stories. Both were raised in Christian households and participated in multiple mission trips to Mexico, when they were each in middle school. Both have lived in Colorado and have a strong connection with the Rocky Mountains. The most bizarre, and cool, connection they discovered was that Loni lived on a tiny private lake in Montana, which Rex visited during the same time that Loni lived there.
Rex grew up on his family’s ranch in Rosebud, Texas learning to cowboy and farm. His sophomore year of high school the family relocated to Tomball, Texas where he played football and was a leader in the church youth group. Rex was accepted to, and attended, Texas A&M University in College Station.
Following in the footsteps of both of his grandfathers, Rex took the oath to uphold and protect the constitution of the United States and serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy in January 2000. His orders were to complete his studies and become an officer in the Navy Civil Engineering Core after graduation.
After graduating in 2003, he reported for duty at Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. However, the Lord had other plans for him. After one month in Officer Candidate School, Rex fell
ill and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The rest of that year was filled with uncertainty and many doctor visits. In January 2004 he was medically retired from the United States Navy and life took a new path. Rex manages MS as best he can and doesn’t let it slow him down. He works as a civil engineer in Austin and has three little girls (Mia 12, Eleanor 9, Lyla 6) whom he cherishes and cares for. Loni is the woman who will share this love and they will be a family together. Her caring nature, kindness, and loyalty keeps them connected and feeds their love.
The daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, Loni grew up in the small town of Paso Robles, CA, with a love for all things horses, country living, and cowboys. Her first music albums were Garth Brooks and Emmylou Harris. In Loni’s senior year of high school, she was accepted to the most prestigious photography school in the country, Brooks Institute, but was unable to attend due to the cost of tuition. This blessing in disguise led her to Colorado and ultimately to Austin, where she finally met her Texas gentleman, Rex Klentzman. Growing up with three siblings, Loni dreamed of having a big family of her own. She knew that it would take time and feeling to know exactly who was right for her and who she could raise children with. Rex’s daughters are the most delightful additions to Loni’s life. She loves and adores each of them individually and wholeheartedly."
