Tips For Choosing Your Perfect Hill Country Wedding Venue

Congratulations!! You're Engaged! Getting engaged is the first and most exciting moment in the journey to planning a wedding! It’s amazing, magical, and the happiest time of you and your fiance's lives!

The next step in that journey is usually choosing the perfect wedding venue for your special day. Now to some this may seem like an easy task at first thought, but when you really start looking it can become increasingly overwhelming. To make sure this does not happen to you, we have compiled some tips as you begin your venue search.

Tip 1:

The Texas Hill Country has a lot of venues, which is great but that can make it difficult to narrow it down to which ones to visit. Don't feel like you have to visit them all. Look at their reviews, website and social media and Narrow your list down to your top 3 to 5. The worst thing you could do is burn yourself out in the first inning of the game. It’s a long process and finding your venue is just the beginning!

Tip 2:

Pick a venue that is practical for your vision. Some questions to think about as you begin touring each venue: does the venue have sufficient parking? Can you get married onsite? does it have a rain plan for your ceremony and reception? does it have appropriate facilities for vendors? Does it have a separate bridal suite and Groom's room? When these things all line up, it makes for a stress free event.

Tip 3:

We saved our favorite tip for last - when you tour the venues, does one in particular speak to you? What do you feel when you stand at the ceremony space? Do you get butterflies when you walk into the reception space? At the Ivory Oak, When a bride stands at the ceremony location and tears up because she can ENVISION herself standing their with her fiance is one of the best moments for us and why we do what we do!

Let yourself really feel the venue. Take your time on your tour, ask questions, become informed, but really feel it. It always helps when you connect with the staff as well. how did they make you feel? If someone is dismissive or not very helpful, this might be a sign that you may run into some issues throughout the rest of the planning process. You want to chose a venue where you have faith in their staff, knowing that your day is their top priority.

We know your journey has just begun, and man, is it going to be an amazing one! Don’t let it overwhelm you and be sure you enjoy every minute of this ride with your fiance!
